    Default After many, many years.....

I have finally taken the plunge and ordered a DE razor, the Edwin Jagger DE87.
Fed up of paying extortionate prices for my Mach 3 cartridges I thought it time to move over to "real" razors, with the reasonably priced blades !

My problem now is, having chosen the razor, which blades to go with it ?

I'm 55 years old, and have a fairly heavy beard, but also sometimes suffer with sensitive skin.

    Suggestions please ?

Get a blade sample pack. Try West Coast Shaving, they have 5-6. Oh, I see you're in UK. Not sure about shipping charges to there.

    Here's mine

    Feather
    Merkur
    Shark

    Welcome to B&B.
Nice choice on the razor. You won't be disappointed.
My best advice for you is to pick up a blade sampler.
There are lots of good blades out there, and what suits one person might not suit another.

If you want a shot at trying out some Personna Medical Prep blades, head over to my PIF and you might just get some. No guarantees, but put your name in anyway!

    Well I agree with the advice of a sampler pack, I will mention that the Edwin Jagger razor is fairly mild and matches with a more aggressive blade well. I like using Feather blades with my Edwin Jagger DE86. I'm working through a sampler currently but I have liked;

    Feather
    7 o'clock (yellow)
    Astra SP
    Bic Chrome Platinum
-Greg "Too many Kelvins up in here!"

Blade sampler pack. Amazon has many, as do the wonderful vendors here on B&B.

As everyone says, YMMV. A blade that gets raves around here may be terrible for you, and vice versa. Listen to your face, not the herd.

Sample pack (from UK vendor), or just get the blades from Tesco or ASDA or Morrisons. They're all pretty good.
