    I have four of them, must be time to list them on e-bay. I like the earlier open comb version better.
    What's a little loss of blood in the big scheme of things?

    The pricy Aristocrats are the OC models from c. 1934. I suppose condition is everything. But Gillette did something very right with that model, TTO and OC together. It wasn't made for commoners, but they made it nonetheless.

    This one was not an OC, but rather a common safety bar model. Which, in my own personal opinion, is perhaps the worst razor gillette ever made from a shaving standpoint. I highly prefer the most lowly of techs

    I agree with Nick.

    Bottom line seems to be that CFM sells his razors at the high prices because of his excellent photographic work. They just look so great. Even though reality may not be quite as glossy.
