    Default Loving the proraso!

Well, I've been off soaps for a while. I like TOBS lemon lime so much (and I got two tubs of it for Christmas) that I've been using that exclusively for about 4 months now. I tried Ogallala bay rum sweet orange and the sandalwood soap varieties in the mean time and found them hard to get a decent protective lather with.
So last week I decided to pull my still unfinished tub of proraso aloe and tea tree out of the cabinet and give it a shot. I've been watching some vids on soap lathering so armed with those tips I had a crack with it. I am very impressed! A bit of know how with the lathering has made all the difference and I have been rewarded with amazingly smooth, protective shaves from it. Now if they could just give it a scent, I'd be totally sold....

I moved right away from creams some time back and I take a puck of soap and shave with it daily until it is finished. At the moment I am shaving with Fitjar and I have a puck of Arlington waiting in the wings for later next month. It is a quality soap and has a great summer scent.

I honestly don't know how you can hold off using that soap, David. You must have excellent "will power"!

Still 50/50 with cream and soaps. However I have been using my Arko stick since it arrived a few weeks back. Go to say sticks seem to be the way to go for me. Easy to use, store and cheap on the pocket.

I've been using the Proraso green out of a tube for a couple of years now - my go-to cream now.

With the menthol and eucalyptus, lots of scent there. Fantastic results and affordable and convenient.

I've been wondering about the tub versions and the white label in particular. Think I'll find an excuse to pick some up today ...

Used it for the first time myself this morning(white label)---my order from Amazon showed up on Fri---I ordered the VDH premium kit and thought what the heck might as well throw in a tub of Proraso that I keep on reading so much about.

Hadn't shaved since Fri morning--so had a good hairy growth goin on--this morning was also my first ever with a badger brush--I'm kinda thinking the badger is a little too weak to use with the Proraso--but first time out with either, so time will tell. Face lathered but didn't get as good as I get with the cheap VDH puck in bowl and cheap boar brush. But like I said both were new to me.

Pleasant smelling with a slight menthol tingle to the face---and got a nice close BBS shave with no irritation---don't know if this was from the soap or from the fact I hadn't shaved for 2 days. All in all a nice experience.

Its also cat approved--I shave before the shower--and was sitting on the edge of the bed watching one of the Sun morning news shows after my shave but before the shower, so the scent factor was high.

The cat came in the room sniffing the air and headed directly to the bathroom---works her way back to me and uses both paws to pull my hand down--gives it a deep sniff and then gives me a mock bite and starts running wildly around the house. I take this as a sign of approval because the is the same cat that rolls around in the sink after you've scrubbed it down with Comet.

I even have a slight Proraso smell after a shower using Ivory soap---cat came up and sniffed my face when I was sitting on the couch after the shower---I think she likes it.
You and your shaving CULT--Sorry I HAD to steal that one.

Both Proraso cream and the Aloe & Green Tea soap have regular spots in my rotation. I think they could discontinue every other soap/cream in my collection, and I'd still be perfectly happy to pick up that green tube every day.
