first straights in the wild, any good?

Hi,
I found what looks like a couple of nice ones in a shop yesterday and they were too good a price not to buy. I don't know anything about straights (yet) so if you can let me know if it's worth getting them honed up I'd appreciate it.

Appears as though somebody tried to sharpen them both at some time and did a bit of a hack job, damaged the engraving (or embossing?) a bit but doesn't look too severe to me and they are also quite sharp so probably ok.

Thanks :biggrin1:

Both of them have pretty heavy hone ware, but they both will still take an edge just fine. I don't see any pitting or anything near the edge to think otherwise.

Hone em up and try shaving. I bet both will be good shavers and they certainly look much better than the ones I started on.

Ok thanks guys, who in OZ hones again, I forget?

Edit, never mind I found it in the wiki, knew it was somewhere.
