    Default I just ordered P.160

I don't really have much to say - I'm just giddy and excited, and I thought I'd share it.... I just ordered a kilo of P.160 hard from italianbarber.com and can't wait for it to get here! Nuff said :)

I did this about 3 weeks ago.

    I LOVE the P160 TM.

The tipo duro is also A1, but good luck finding that stuff. You won't regret your buy, plus Joseph is very good to do business with

Since I'm liking Cella so much, I may have to get a kilo of this stuff too. Let us know how you enjoy it!

Don't be fooled by how soft it is! Pack it into a bowl and load it like any other hard soap. It will not load like cream.

Load it profusely and water it bit by bit... and you will be rewarded by GOBS of lather. :D Really great soap.

My package from Italian Barber just arrived... some P.160, Cella, and RazoRock. Obviously I'm on a bit of an Italian almond kick. Woulda got some Acca Kappa 1869 cream in tub but it was sold out. Boy, do I regret getting only 125 g of P 160. It smells FANTASTIC in the tub, like almonds and maraschino cherry, and strongly, too. Based purely on scent in the tub, I'm quite content with my decision to only get the 150 g jar of Cella, as it barely has any almond smell at all compared to the fabulous P. 160. And the RazoRock is also comparitively mild in smell, almost identical to Cella. Hopefully they blossom significantly when put to water and brush. Incidentally, what's best for these Italian soft soaps: hot, warm, or cold water?

You should be excited. This stuff will blow you away. Oh, and I ordered it Wednesday evening -- that's less than 48 hours ago! Joseph is solid through and through. He will be getting my business when I order a Merkur Progress next paycheck.

Edit: Just checked the Italian Barber website and the scent of RazoRock is described as "very similar to P. 160 but more pronounced." I'd argue that it's quite the other way around. Funny how these things work.

I don't like it as well as Arko or Tabac.

Do you mean the Duro or the Morbido. The Tipo Duro is pretty hard to find, so if you were able to snag some up from Joe, you are a lucky guy. I've been trying to get the duro to see how it compares to the morbido. P160 is my favorite soap. The smell is what really makes me choose this over Cella, although the performance is pretty similar to me. Enjoy it when it gets to you. and if you dont, sell it to me.

The duro is harder, the scent seems stronger. Otherwise I love it almost as much as the morbido.

I've tried lathering my razorock with and without a scuttle and the heat of a scuttle seems to produce a lather much faster. And the soap can take a fair bit of water without suffering too.

Please elaborate. Scent? Perfomance? I'm finding that the more soaps and creams I try, the more similar they all seem, at least lather-wise. Don't know about performance, as I've done more mock latherings (i.e. not proceeded by an actual shave) than actual lather&shaves, as I shave only once or twice a week. But so far I can get almost identically excellent lather out of:

    -- T&H Almond cream
    -- Taylor Sandalwood cream
    -- Trumper Rose cream (yuck)
    -- Speik cream
    -- Palmolive Classic cream
    -- JM Fraser Original cream
-- The Real Shaving Co. cream
    -- Cella soap
    -- P160 soap
    -- Razorock soap
    -- Nuetrogena transparent facial bar

Some just take longer than others. Some just take more water than others. Some take longer and more water. I'm sure you get the idea.

All the P160 on his site is Morbido. Why is Duro difficult to find? Discontinued? Actually, I've never even heard of it, but now I need it, based on it being stronger in scent the already intoxicating Morbido. Any leads on this mythical Duro would be appreciated (not that I actually expect anyone to give up their secret sources).

Yeah it was the Morbido.... I had forgotten which one I'd scored lol :) Can't wait for it to arrive. Another order from him arrived today, had some RazoRock - WOW WOW WOW. The smell is AMAZING. I was floored. And oh what a shave!!!!!!! I'm giddy like a schoolgirl :) I even got a chance to try a new blade - sharks. I ordered a 10 pack of those with everything else before going crazy on a 300 pack from ebay... A VERY smooth shave tonight. Doesn't get much better than this.

I believe the tipo duro and the tipo morbido have been discontinued. So get your hands on it before it's gone. :/

Why do wonderful things fall by the way side?
