Lately, I have really been drawn to using a Vulfix 404 badger/boar brush with Osma shaving soap. The two seem complementary in the sense that the brush is incapable of holding lather for more than one pass and the soap's lather tends to vanish even before the pass is completed. So one is constantly re-lathering and re-applying the soap as needed, throughout the shaving session. Hardly ideal in the received sense, I know; but still, the brush reminds me of an affectionate stray dog that follows you home, rather than a fussy pure-bred, and the soap is no-frills in the sense that it has a neutral smell which is not off-putting.
Any thoughts or comments on this combination? Or suggestions of a similar combination in this vein? I certainly would like to know of other badger/boar brushes, if they are out there.
