Thread: Towel Warmer

    Default Towel Warmer

I've had a big free standing towel warmer for several years and rarely give it thought.

My bathroom is in the basement, the wife's is upstairs.

So my towel warmer ensures I have a dry and cozy bath towel at the ready any time. It always has two towels on it that I rotate out every week or so.

I put two towels on it, and use the one underneath after I shower. Then it goes on top- repeat...

I noticed today that the chrome finish is pretty tatty and the poor thing has seen better days. So I Googled towel warmer and am I the owner of some freekish unknown bathroom accessory?

Anyone else own one? Did you pay several hundred dollars for it? I sure didn't.

I can't seem to find the exact same one I own for sale, and anything comparable is mucho dinero!!

What's going on? I love this thing and if it gives out some day I'm not prepared to sell a kidney to replace it.

Mine kind of looks like this one; http://www.amazon.com/Warmrails-Heat...740104&sr=1-14 ; but it's much nicer.

I wish I'd have bought a spare when I bought mine 5 or 6 years ago.

If you have the basement washroom all to yourself, punch a whole in the wall and hang your towel over the warm water pipe.
This way you get to keep your warm towels and your manliness.

Can't say I've ever heard of towel warmer though!

It's like DE shaving. You heard of it, or hadn't tried it yourself, but once you have one you wonder how you lived so many years without it.

It's surprising to me that not everone has one. What do you guys do, run the dryer while you're in the shower? Cold towels are not an option.

My hot water pipes run through the rafters, not a lot of room to go smashing through stuff. Soild idea though.

Towel warmers are really nice, but they aren't nice and cheap. Happy hunting. Try one of these custom made ones starting at $2643.

    What didn't I see?

Or are kidneys going for a lot less today? $50 used to $100 new?

I guess I missed the point. Either pay it to have it or don't. It isn't like it's a necessity if one has to quibble over $100.

You don't know what you're missing.

My point was that to replace the one I paid $45.00 for years ago I need to step up to $400.00 range for comparable model.

I'll buy it. Because I can. I earned every penny I have. The warm dry towel is something I will have the rest of my life.

I will say this, call it a caution. If you place it too close to your throne, and do not cover it completely with towels, you may inadvertently tap it with your knee- in which case you will have an involuntary muscle spasm that may result in much drama.

Cheap model- top of the line- whatever. I'll buy a new one.

Thanks for the replies. I hope in some small way I gave everyone a chance to reevaluate their life and respond positively or with jealous sarcasm and antagonizing remarks.

My next purchase will be a heated toilet seat, with vibrating massage and auto-wipe. Can't wait!!
