    Hey everybody

Just joined the forum today, after I read up on your reviews for various DE. I got my EJ de89lbl today in the mail from amazon with Trumper Violet... wowww i got some razor burn cause this is my first time with a DE, but I don't think ill be going back to my proglide anytime soon .

Did have a question though, I bought the Tweezerman brush a couple of weeks ago and have been using it, but i notice that I never get it completely clean i squeezed it slightly the last time and got some shaving cream to come out. I didn't worry about it, but was wondering is there a proper way to clean the brush????

Welcome to B&B! I'm glad you found us, and that you've switched over to "real" shaving!

I've got a Tweezerman, and when I'm done shaving, I squeeze the leftover lather out of it, then rinse it with running water and squeeze it out again. I "hand lather" with the brush until no soap or cream is coming out of it, and then give it a good, hard shake in my bathtub to fling the water out of it. A light brushing on a towel, and then another few shakes to fluff the brush, and it gets stood up to dry in my brush soaking bowl for tomorrow's shave. Hope this helps.

Glad you're enjoying your new DE experience. You'll be surprised how quickly your shaves improve!

Welcome aboard B&B. Good choice for your first (maybe only) DE.

I rinse my brush under warm running water from the tap. I just hold the brush under the water, handle down and bristles up. I make a circle with my index finger and thumb to encircle the brush so the bristles do not splay out while I rinse. I follow this by gently squeezing the water from the brush. Repeat a few times until the water is clear. Shake out excess moisture and set the brush aside to dry. (If you want to start a controversy, ask whether you should dry and store your brush with the handle up or down.)

Looks like you are off to a good start. Practice and patience will pay off with better and better shaves.
    My mileage does vary.

Welcome to B&B. I keep my brushes in good condition by doing this after each shave.
    1. Squeeze all lather out of brush.
    2. Rinse brush under warm water squeezing bristles to make sure brush is free of lather.
    3. Gently shake brush to remove excess water. Once or twice is enough.
    4. Rub brush gently over a towel to remove most of the water.
    5. Hang brush in my stand to allow it to dry.

Takes maybe one minute to do.
