Red face This waiting is agonizing!

I've got all kinds of shaving goodies coming to me in the mail... eventually!

I've traded, purchased and am expecting:

    Godrej Shave cream
    RazoRock Shave Soap
QCS Celestial Woods (though I think he flaked on me since I won't talk to him on the phone at all hours)
    Proraso Shave Soap
    QCS Lemongrass & Cedar
    Edwin Jagger Aloe Vera Cream
    D.R. Harris Arlington Cream
    Speick Shave Stick
6 pucks from some Ebay vendor named aprilsboutique or vestacandle, but they sell up to 30 pucks at once and they have like 100 different scents... we shall see, it was cheap.

Some of this I ordered or traded weeks ago and I'm still waiting! No blame or upset here, except the one dude who flaked, it's just I hate waiting for stuff I'm excited about! :)

In hopes of curbing my intense curiosity for all these wonderful shaving goodnesses to come, can any of you gents give me some insight, tips, experiences, anecdotes... anything about these products???

    Thanks gents!

I know your feeling, and my mailman is an SOB- he knows when stuff is coming. He is normally here around 12 or 1. Last week I was waiting on some homemade Bay Rum- he shows up at 530. I did a blade swap with another member, the blades arrived at 430 yesterday. Today, nothing expected- 1230. Tomorrow is about the right time for me to be getting an Ever Ready 1912 and a stick of Arko. If Vegas tracked this stuff, I would bet he won't be here before 4 tomorrow

Now that my USPS rant is over , let's get to product. I absolutely LOVE DR Harris Arlington. Great scent, great lather. It is my #1 favorite. Speick is seriously threatening Arlington for top spot. Resist the urge some have here of milling it down to a puck- leave it in stick form. I am really beginning to love face lathering, and if you do have to shave a minute or two off a shave (or if you travel) a shave stick it the way to go. Just in case, here is a shave stick tutorial:

    Cool

Thanks for that link! Very helpful. I'd been wondering how exactly to use it, and debating milling it, but that seems like the way to go! I already face lather all my soaps, so its just a small difference.
What about storage of the Speick? I hear its kinda just a cheap foil wrapper, any tips?

Oh, and I know what you mean about the mailman, well kinda. I get it with the UPS guy. When it's something I don't care about, its here early afternoon. When I do care about it, it's 7:00pm! ;)

I just ripped the foil off and store the stick in the box, as I want to preserve the smell. I might start looking around for empty push up tubes for travel. Mama Bear makes a stick about the same size, so I have asked for her input. Shoot me a PM (in case it takes a few days and the thread gets buried), and if I find out any info I will send it your way. If any one reading this has ideas on the plastic tube, please weigh in.

I really want to know more about the Razorock soap. They make an alum bar that is sold with the soap in a package deal, and have been tempted. Make sure you add your $.02 to the reviews section!

Will do! That sounds like a promising idea!

I will be sure to do that!

I'm excited to try it. It'll be my first Italian soft soap. What I know about it, which means nothing to me but it may to others, is that it is very similar to P.160, which I've never tried but hear wonders about. Italian Barbers description says it's the same as Fitness, which I'm unfamiliar with too. But the $.02 I can give now is for $5 its seriously worth a try for anyone! Now, keep in mind the shipping actually costs a little more than the soap, and all told it will cost about $12, but thats still a really good price!

I haven't smelled those versions of the QCS you have, but I have the caymon and the lemongrass cedarwood versions.

From my experience with these 2, QCS are A1. Top quality ingredients, top quality performance.

OMG I never had a problem with USPS until I moved to Chicago. My wife used to buy her books on Amazon for school and would get free USPS shipping, but every time our neighborhood post office would receive the box and just not tell anyone it was here!

Several times the date they received the box was written on the top, and it was several weeks (or in one case a month and a half) before we were notified it had arrived. Worst part is, even if you're 99% sure they have it you get turned away without a notification label... I don't know how Chicago can totally corrupt a federal service, but apparently it's been done.

Not to hijack the thread, but I just used RazoRock myself for the first time a couple days ago. The smell reminds me of Disaronno. And WOW. You're in for a treat! :)

    Cool

Yes! All but my RazoRock, but it's still on schedule. And the QCS Celestial Woods.

I've already written a review for the Godrej, which was awesome, but a little foreign in scent. Also got and reviewed the Speick, which I really liked. It worked good but the smell was like calming aromatherapy!

I also received the cheap pucks, and I shoulda known better. Just terrible. Honestly they face lathered ok, but the scents were so fake and overdone they make me ill.

Everything else I got to last night. I used the Proraso this morning, and it was pretty nice, though I ran out of lather and thats never happened. The rest all smell nice, but thats all I know so far!

Looking forward to trying the rest! Im sure I'll do a thread on each when I get to them.
