Default A really nice German razor

I just picked up one of the most attractive razors that I have ever seen: a Karl Engels, made in Solingen. The design says Art Deco, but I know nothing about when it was made. 30s? 40s? - no idea. The head design is intriguing, neither open comb nor solid bar. The width is the same as a conventional razor. It came in a nice case, and was probably unused until I tried it out with a Feather, plus my finest brush and soap. Great heft and grip. An easy, excellent shave!

Unlikely. The commie system rarely produced anything meant to pamper or please. Plus Solingen was in West Germany.

That is a really nice find. As mentioned earlier, even nicer since you have the whole set.

It looks of the Bauhaus era. That would place it from 1919 to 1933. Of course it could be a later homage to the design, but I would start looking in that era.

I don't think that case in original, but on what you paid (what did you pay?) it should be worth it anyways.

    Nice score!

It would be nice if you or the B&B could find out the history of that razor and brand.

Absolutely Beautiful Razor, I have seen at least one other on the german e-bay site, and was always curios.

    Thanks for fueling the fire
