Default How Long can you keep unopened Shaving Cream?

This is definitely a newbie question....

So I'm getting married in July and I'm putting together a wet shaving kit for my groomsmen and ushers. I toyed with the idea of getting them a nice soap but after thinking it over I believe the creams are easier to use and personally I find them slicker. I'd like to go ahead and order them (just to check one more thing off my list) but I'm unsure as to how they might keep. I live in an unairconditioned apartment that gets pretty hot in the summer. Will the creams be ok for ~3.5 months in my hot aparment? They should be right?

I have no idea. I always open mine when I get them!

Is there a place in your apartment that is always shady? A closet, perhaps? That might be your best bet. Can you keep it at a relatives house in their basement?
I can DFS with XTG, and CCS PDQ with WTG, but BBS needs ATG or I'm SOL. That's just my MO. You may think BFD, but if you read the FAQ in the WIKI, you'll find out ASAP that's it's not the SOS.

I'm an Arkansan living in LA. No family other than my soon to be mother-in-law. That being said I'm sure I could ask her. I figure the time is not so much the issue as the time+heat. I mean they must keep the stuff on the shelves in warehouses for a long time.

I'd say it depends with that length of time. When you say unopened just remember that most tubs aren't sealed. They usually have a plastic cover on top of them inside the lid and then it's just packed in a box. If the weather gets really hot the cream can separate. I'd recommend getting cream in a tube. It's cheaper for ya and I've found that they seal much better so they have longer shelf life. Anyway, that's my 2 cents, but I'm no chemist.

Ever since the great C&E Sweet Almond Oil disaster I keep a spare of everything on my A list. I know, I know, its a AD thing. I use creams that have been sitting in my closet for over a year with no problem. Additionally, I routinely use soaps that are over 25 years old (Old Spice, Yardley, Williams, etc), again with no problem. What ever you order should be fine. Put your kits together and move on to the next item on the list.

As a very happy grandfather, congratulations on your pending marriage. Do something nice for the parents and have lots of kids.

    Default Ziplock bag

If your concerned about excessive heat when your storing creams, put them in an airtight ziplock bag and place them in the fridge.
