I love the shape and grain of that MG, I have one with a similar shape and it's a great pipe, I was unaware that Pierre Cardin made pipes (or at least had pipes made under their name), I'm curious who the true manufacturer of it is, is it a painted synthetic or briar bowl, it's hard to tell from the photo?

Hey gents, saw this today and thought I'd pass it along: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...-Peterson-Pipe

Don't know if any of you guys are on the bladeforums site (knife collector forums), but the above looks like a good deal on a Peterson pipe. I'm not affiliated with the seller, and I've already got more pipes than I can handle at the moment (2) so why not tip off you cats who I know might dig it.

That's about right for that pipe. Shamrock is the 2nds line for Peterson. .

Ah that makes better sense then: all the ones I've seen were a bit more pricey.

In other news, I've got a brand new Peterson fermoy rhodesian just waiting for tomorrow afternoon to roll around.

Yes, that's the first I've ever seen a Pierre Cardin pipe either. Very cool.

I just heard from a friend- he has a few pipes he isn't smoking, and is putting them in the mail for me. No pics or descriptions yet (other than briar)- if I have to wait in anticipation, I may as well share it with everyone

Usually made by Jean Lacroix, it's briar, looks like some knucklehead painted it yellow. It is in the beginning phase of paint removal. Looks like some nice grain under the paint. It's a very comfortable fit to my hand. I'll like it a lot better when it doesn't look like a tulip anymore. I know it was painted after production because the briar is stained a dark walnut color and there was some rim charring under the paint. It should clean up nicely though.

Anyone else notice that you can get five 100g tins of Rattray's from JR Cigars cheaper than a 500g bag from anywhere else?

Ok, so I finally got some pics that do this thing a little justice. A good friend created this for me because, despite having numerous pipes, I had no pipe furniture. They all stayed stashed away in pouches to keep them from getting banged up. He told me he was going to make me a pipe rack; this was far more than I ever could have expected, and I couldn't believe it when I opened the box.

A handmade gift from a friend is always truly special. This is something that will always have a place in my home.
