    Default Damnit!

My latesst package has just arrived (contents below) and you buggers have already got me looking for the next! All that Sam Gawith's meant I had to check if Pipesandcigars.com's SG stocks is filtering in at last. It won't last long so I must order a Navy Flake before you lot can clear them out again.

@vlad: now we know the reason for the great Full Virginia Flake shortage of 2011: you bought it all!

@jmallen: I love Pererson system pipes and have a 307(?) but I'm not sure I'm ever going to get accustomed to the P-lip. That ebony is beautiful. The old Marxman scrubbed up nice too.

Just so you know you can get a replacement fishtail bit if that suits you better.

    That is sweet, Steve.

I've got a couple eBay estates & a cob - looking forward to that "new" pipe as well. (I'm thinking I'll be browsing at Iwan Ries when I'm downtown for the Merz Great Shave meetup next week.)

Does your camera have custom white balance? Another option would be to use the flash to overpower the natural light and balance for that. Digital colour can be a minefield.

If you like the Peterson's let me know and i'll give you the name of the ebay seller where I bought mine. Saved me about $20 and came straight from Ireland.

Cool, thanks. I do like that 999.

Oh, and I did finally discover one cool thing about being stationed at Great Lakes: orders placed online at Iwan Reis at 2:30 on Monday are "Out For Delivery" at 8:37 Tuesday morning.

(Just a bunch of accoutrements & cleaning supplies. Nothing sexy.)

    Talk like a pirate day!?!

I took these pics with my cell phone, but you can see that it looks distinctly different in natural vs indoor lighting. I am sure that I could get a much better rendition from my nikon. Of course with my digital photo skills, I'd probably end up making it look like a totally different color altogether!

Well, after seeing 73mountaineer's 999, and Wednesday having been my 40th b-day and all, I just had to get myself something I knew I would love. It arrived today and I was right!

Happy Birthday! The tanblast version of that pipe with the Cumberland style bit is on my top three list of dream pipes.

Fridge and wood cost me a total of around $200. And the combination with beads keeps my humidity pretty constant.
