Picked up a little lucite brush today that had been there for awhile. Finally hit a price I would pay. I didn't realize how little it was until I put it up next to my Wee Scot. 15mm knot, 38mm handle, 42mm loft, 80mm total.
Not as small as the Wee Scot of course, but it's definitely the smallest lucite handle I've ever seen!

Gillette Flare Tip Superspeed (B4 - 4th Qtr, 1956)
Found this morning at flea market for $3.00...cleaned up very nicely! Other than some light scratches on the head, looks to be in perfect condition. I plan on taking it for a spin tomorrow morning.

Grabbed a travel atomizer of Penhaligon's Douro, a sample vial of Endymion and a refill puck of English Fern. (I know, not tallow and reputed to not be the best performer....but that smell, oh my.)
got this in Jake's contributor contest. more pictures here

Here's a very interesting dry shaver for all you wet shaving fanatics! This unusual razor is an exercise device and shaver in one cool tool. Made by the same company that made the Rolls Raozrs, you can learn more about this 1937 razor on this site. It doesn't work like the wind ups, so you can't keep it running without constantly depressing the winding handle. Like walking and chewing gum at the same time -- squeezing the handle and shaving at the same time requires some real talent. Cool design and this guy was never used.

Well I went out to the fair and found a couple of neglected but decent safeties.
The boxes:
A Gillette New Standard as we've seen many a time: $5
A Gillette Aristocrat: $8
Now they are both in need of a desperate cleaning. The New Standard has a small crack in the shaft but it still holds tight. The Aristocrat is a little loose on the doors when you open it, and as you can see the one doesn't close all the way. I am hoping a cleaning will get it to seat properly, if not I want to get it a tune up. I am also considering getting it replated. Any good recommendations for those two processes?
Can anyone tell me the year of the Aristocrat? I'm guessing 47-48 but I don't know if that blade box within the case is the original that came with the razor...

So far:
A twin for last months 501.
Got a bunch last month, but forgot to put pics in.
Using dish soap with hot water and a tooth brush followed by MAAS and a rag.
As you can see, most of it is in pretty good shape except for the bent flange on the one door and the weird gray buildup that will not come off (except maybe with a wire wheel) on the outside pieces.
*edit - the razors look much lighter because of the natural overcast light I had behind me today as opposed to the 60W lighting I had for last nights photos.
I am still looking for people with services that will fix the problems with the TTO razor and am open to suggestions.![]()

I Truly hope B&B makes a full recovery, I didn't realize how great the community was until it was gone.
Congratulations on a nice pick up. The New Standards are one of my favorite shavers. You can't go wrong at $5. You will typically pay 10X that on the bay.
