Weck Double Edge Razor

Gentlemen:

Does anyone know the historical background for the Weck double edge razor? The razor is a brand of Merkur, since it has the Merkur emblem on the tip of the handle, but I can't find much information on it. I am guessing mine, an open-comb razor, dates from the 1960s, but I could be wrong. It's a good looking razor. Thanks.

It's a German Merkur clone like Adams and another, the name I can't remember right now. Other threads have been made about this.

Thanks, my friend, for providing the information and the photos. I found a Weck in an antique shop two weeks ago and cleaned it up. It's a good looking razor and the chrome plating in excellent shape. I have not used an open comb razor in recent decades, so it'll be interesting to give it a try.
