Default Help in ID ing this piece.

If you saw the Score you saw this piece in it. I don't have a clue as to what it is as there are no marks, initials etc. on the piece to identify it.
It's bakelite, but that's about it.
The Merkur was easy, but not this one.
    Anyone have a clue?

How sure are you that that's the right case?

The bakelite on the case and the razor are identical in finish and texture, and really , what other type of razor would go in this case,, I think in one respect it is the right pairing. And yet I still have my doubts as you do. Anything is possible .

But , I'll have to post another photo because I think your question is a good one. Now it may be a bad representation, but the image on the inside of the lid doesn't look like the razor in the box. The image looks more like a slant with a flared handle. Maybe the box is for a "bakelite" or some other razor. But I'd still like to know which is which. And what is the razor.
For now , it looks good together,, but I'm beginning to think it's for a slant of some sort. I don't think the image on the lid would be that far off. Regardless, I like the box, I like the razor but I just may have to keep looking for the proper match.
So it's either the right case and the wrong razor,, or the right razor and the wrong case!
At least the Merkur bakelite is correct. I also believe the wrong razor is in the wood Gillette case. Doesn't matter as the proper razor shouldn't be that difficult to find to make a complete set which I believe was called the Algonquin or just a Bigfellow.
I'm still trying to learn this stuff.

That logo is clearly of a slant razor.
If the case is right, that might narrow the search considerably.

I think I remember seeing a Merkur, slant, in bakelite at one time. Of course my memory may be waaaay off, but I think that's the direction this is going. Never thought $20.00 would drive me nuts.

Wow. Looks like Alex found the case. Construction looks like an exact match, sans the gladweg logo.

    AH HA!
That's the case in white and blue! Very cool guys, thanks so much for the help. Now I have to search for the razor.
One way or another I'll find one. My usual scenario is to find a razor and look for a case. I liked this case, so now I'll look for a razor. It seems to me that the cases tend to get lost but the razors survive so I grab cases when I can.
That is one solid looking razor by the way. Looks like it'd weigh quite a bit. Is it actually a slant as the logo seems to indicate?
And while I have you guys here, and I'm still new and ignorant about many of these pieces, the wood case should have a Big Fellow in it and not a regular ball end as it currently does. Correct?

Correct. The case should have a big fellow in it.

    Cool, thought so.
Again , Thank you so much for your help in this. I figured if anyone could solve the riddle it would be someone from the forum.
If I hang around here long enough maybe something will sink in. So much to learn, so little time.
