    Welcome to the B.

I can't give you hands on help from Michigan, BUT there are a lot of straight vids and advice around. Read the forums here, and google Straight Razor Shaving for images and You Tube. I don't know where you are in straight razor use. Do you use wet lather now? If so, you have a good start. Do you have a straight razor now? Is it honed and ready for use? Let us know more, and we can help you out!

Yeah, I've been DE wet shaving for about 6 years and I've been looking forward to str8 shaving for 3. The razor was pro sharpened & shave ready. Although, the shave wasn't so great. I had high expectations since I kept hearing people describe str8 shaving like its a hot knife through butter. It was really kind of uncomfortable and pulled. I've been reading forums & vids for a good while b4 I had a str8 trying to prepare for when I got one.

There's also a local guy around where I live who buys up all the str8 razors from the antique shops in town (a member maybe?). So it made me think that maybe I could meet up with a local shaver for some real life guidance.

    Thanks everyone
I've learned tons of things from B&B forum and recently also SRP. These forums really improved my shaving.
Shaving used to be a chore, but now it's something I look forward to.

Now I just gotta get str8's figured out.
