Blade Sampler Update

Well I finally have time to breathe a bit. The Oil and Gas Pipeline in South Texas is Booming! If any of you guys are Welders, Pipefitters etc, you should check it out.

Anyway off subject.....Sorry.

Blade Sampler Results so far. (Sampler From West Coast Shaving...the extended sampler I believe)

Razor-Merkur Short handle Slant Bar (can never remember the number)

Soap-MWF...I affectionatley reffer to it as "The Fat"

Brush-Rudy Vey Boxelder Burl Chubby 1. Silvertip Grade A

Astra: Dream...Bliss...Wonderment...I could go on and on. Even after 4 shaves it was still performing like a dream.

Derby Extra: total dissapointment. I could not believe the tugfest that it was.

Personna Red (Made in Mexico): Not bad did well for about 3 shaves

Lord Super Stainless: Bad. Not as bad as the Derby, but still bad.

Bic Chrome Platinum: Decent for about one shave, but nothing impressive.

Gilette 7 O'Clock: Not bad, but only lasted me about 2 shaves.

I have a Dorco loaded to try on my next shave, and I have been saving the Feathers for last. They will be the wrap on my Sampler experience. So far the winner for the resemblance of steel wool that grows on my face is the Astra. They are, imo, in a league all their own.

Bravo! Keep experimenting, even when you find the right one for you. As your technic and prep improve, some of those blades that didn't work at all will become usable, and maybe even interesting!
