    Default Gillette Senator

I recently aquired a Gillette Senator. The doors are not as easy to open as some of my other adjustables. They seem tight. The handle is tight and does not drop.
    Can this razor be lubricated?

Always worth a shot, start easy and let it sit in some warm water for awhile, then after that lube with some mineral oil

Yes, it may be gummed up with soap residue. A good soaking might be what you need. And be patient. It might take a few tries.

Do you soak the whole razor in mineral oil or put a few drops in the mechanism?

Love my Senator! I'll echo what the others have already said. Without knowing the state of yours I would put odds on it being gummed up inside, so a soak is a better place to start. Honestly you really shouldn't need to lube your razors. If it's stiff because it's corroding inside then lube is only going to mask that for so long. And if it's gummed up, you'll just end up with oily goo inside instead of dry goo.

Soak in warm water, may have to do that a few times. A couple drops of mineral oil after everything is clean & dry.
