    Default Printable How-to guide

Hey guys...I'm looking to send a wetshaving starter kit to a friend of mine. He's a father of two little girls, 4 & 3 I believe so needless to say, he's got his hands full. I know now after having a toddler of my own, how precious a commodity time really is, much less two of them!

I've known him going on 20 years and he's deserving of some daily "me time" as I'm sure, he's not getting it. I'll definitely be directing him here, although I don't want to overwhelm him by giving him the kit and the link and saying, "here you go". We don't live in the same city any longer, so in person tutorials would be a tough one.

To the point...have any of you guys that converted someone put together a comprehensive starter guide that I could print out (prep, lather, shave, etc)? Obviously I could compile this from the site but figured I'd check with you fine gentlemen (don't worry, I'm using the term loosely...Probesport, I'm looking in your direction here )

Anyway, shoot me a PM or post in this thread if you've got something. I'd like to send out by the end of the week. If it comes up no joy, then that's cool, I'll put it together. If you've got the doc, then send it my way and I will log you copiously.

    Thanks all!

I tried a MMOC once. I've sinced switched to straight razor shaving because it was less dangerous.

give him a link to mantic59 channel on youtube.. I would suggest he get his prep.. lather, etc down before switching to a DE. Switching 'cold turkey' can be a little overwhelming.

This guide by Chris Moss doesn't address DE shaving at all, unfortunately, but it's got good info on prep and products, and does at least have the virtue of being a printable document. Failing that, you could just print out the lather-building and 4-pass shave guides from B&B, and then point him here for more detailed help.

I print out the original instructions for the razors, I have been able to find a great deal of them online, at least for the SuperSpeed's

I Truly hope B&B makes a full recovery, I didn't realize how great the community was until it was gone.

Trumper's has a good guide to the basics:

Check out the art of manliness article on how to shave like your grandfather. That is the article that got me started.

If you copy the meat of the article into a word document it is only 3-4 pages. There are several pages of comments if you try to directly print it.
