    Default FT: Eclipse Red Ring

    Trade agreed

If you're looking to pick one of these up without paying spiralling Ebay prices, I hope this will be a good opportunity for you.

The razor is in excellent condition with the plating intact but for a certain amount of brassing on the knob, which you can see in the third picture. There are no cracks in the handle or other defects. It is built like a tank.

It has never failed to deliver a BBS shave every time but I find that it is a little bit too aggressive for my skin and so it isn't getting the usage that it deserves. I'd rather have something that I can use every day.

In exchange, I'm looking for something like the following:

An open comb Gillette Aristocrat in excellent condition.
A Fat Boy in excellent condition.
A user grade Big Fellow or Bulldog.
A user grade Toggle (maybe I'm stretching the limits here, but I can hope )
A combination of more common Gillettes that I don't have - particularly a black-tip '40s SS, a black-handle SS and all Rockets except the Rocket LD, which I already have.
Vintage Gillette blades - particularly Swedes, if anyone can be persuaded to part with them.

At this stage, I'm not looking for cash offers. If a swap isn't finalised within a week, I'll put it up for sale at the original price that I paid for it, which is a fair bit less than current prices going by recent Ebay auctions.

Let me know if you need better or higher-res photos. I had to use my old camera 'phone but I can borrow my girlfriend's digital camera and provide a link to high-res photos.

I live in the UK and am happy to post internationally. The Red Ring will be sent recorded with insurance for the market value.

There is no case. I do have a very nice case from the 1930s in mint condition that I can include with it but it won't be the original. I'm going to take some better pics of the Red Ring to-night so I'll take a couple of the case at the same time.

Man, I'm so tempted to offer my cased Fat Boy for this. The only thing holding me back is the slim hope of finding one of these some day with the red paint still intact... and that may not hold me back for much longer.

Okay, here are the pictures of the Fatboy, Toggle, and Black Handled Superspeed.

The toggle is in pretty sad shape, not much plating left on the toggle or the head, and the handle doesn't exactly sparkle either, but it is in very good shape mechanically. The adjuster clicks and works as it should.

The Fatboy isn't quite in excellent condition, it has a decent watermark that covers about 2/3 of one door and continues on to the other door (about 1/5 to 1/4) see last picture. These do shine up nice with some maas if you're that kinda guy. The case is in good shape other than some scratches a crossed the clear plastic top (second 4th picture).

Last but not the least.... well.... I guess it is the least rare and least famous:
The Black handled Superspeed. It isn't in great shape either, it has some pretty heavy waterspots on the upper metal part of the handle and the handle and it lost a bit of it's Black throughout the handle as well.

Hopefully everyone can see the pictures??? If not, I can attach them here shortly. Here is a link to my Picasa album as well.
