Default Ebay Psycho Razor in more ways than 1! Also Bad First Bidder.

Ok congratulation to who ever got the Vintage Gillette “Psycho” Safety Razor off Eaby for $98.

Here is why I am going to rant. I saw this razor First, I now you do not believe me but I did and was going to use the Buy IT Now option. Yes this auction had a Buy It Now option. The listing started on Mar-11-11 at 15:47:53 PST. I looked at it at 15:50 PST and started to look at the item. At 15:52:48 someone put a bid in and the Buy It Now option went bye bye. Yes they beat me to the punch and that would have been ok if they used the Buy It Now the split second before I did, but they did not and they only put a $12.00 bid in. Everyone knows that low of a bid will not win a razor like this. Shame on the first bidder.

I do not know if I should tell you what the ridiculously low Buy It Now was.

I had been watching this also, I did not see the buy it now option...I think the bid was pretty low when I first saw it. I would have liked to had it to go along with my grafco psycho razor but at 98 dollars no box I decided to pass.

I've noticed someone's going through the razors lately and doing that...not sure what the m.o. is there. Appears to be a relatively new buyer who just puts bids on every razor - including BINS. Seems to be a little gung ho to get bids on, 'course I never understood why anyone bids with 6 days left to go anyways... The scant times I've sold there I'm usually hit with an offer from what I'd guess is a dealer because he has 1000s of feedback, and he always placed a quick bid on my items first then asked. Lord knows who it was or why they did it...

What did you spend 2:48 doing?
For $45 on a psycho, I think I would probably have hit the button without reading anything.

Oh, Dude . . . what a bummer! $45 isn't too bad for a Psycho in good shape!!

Now, let me introduce myself . . . my Pappy grew up on a farm halfway between Union and Rabbit Hash back during the Great Depression. My Grandpa's first cousin, Aunt Charlotte, had a farm just outside of Burlington where the airport is now . . . and I still have relatives all over Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties . . .

Now that we're "Kentucky Kinfolk" I've gotta tell you . . . don't ever think twice on any reasonable BIN that you see on eBay!! Hit the damned button and regret it later . . . 'cause sure as we're heading out for a picnic at Big Bone Lick some damned Yankee is bound to beat you to the punch and either buy it out from under you or put in a miserable low-ball bid and spoil your whole day!! You'll never get the razor, and all it will be is a memory in your mind, just like a nice cold Hudepohl or Weidemann used to be . . .

(At least you can still get a decent four-way chili at Skyline . . . )

Sorry you missed your chance on the Psycho . . . another one will come along!! Until then, you've still got us transplanted kinfolk stuck up here in the cold and dismal north hoping you eventually find the razor of your dreams!!

    Good luck, and never forget . . . Florence, Y'all . . .

I got killed that way with a couple of slims on Ebay. I had reasonable BIN on them. Someone came in and low balled both of them. I ended up basically giving them away. I think all my future sales will be on here. But it was my own fault I should have set a starting bid as well.

I don't understand your story. The listing had a BIN price, or it didn't? What does the first bid have to do with the BIN going away? What details are you leavng out?

Unless seller, using a different account or a shill, realized what they had and made the bid to remove the BIN.

I don't understand these threads. While you were dilly dallying some guy moved in and took your razor. It's ebay. Happens all the time. Next time you see a razor you want, bid on it. Or hit the BIN button.

True, that is possible. But it would have been a lot easier to just edit the listing to remove the BIN option. Since it happened within 3 minutes of the listing being posted, I doubt the seller would have discovered their mistake that quickly. Perhaps the bidder wanted to kill the BIN, and send an offer to relist with an even lower BIN. Doesn't seem it would be worth it, but I suppose its possible. It's ebay after all, the land of no logic.

Yes i second this, seems someone is jealous out there, and i'm sure they are doing it on purpose, we have to monitor who is doing this and ask them why, I'm sure its being done on purpose because it happens a lot withing 6 days and 23 hrs, there is Always a bid. i'm sure someone is doing it so no one Emails the seller and cut a buy it now price deal with the seller, someone was ranting about this the other day...

lets Monitor this and see who is doing it, Not Kool.
