    Default Boar Brush Drying Time

How long does it take on average for a boar brush to dry?

In the process of breaking in my new Semogue and Omega boars, they seem to take an awful lot longer to dry than what I was used to with my AoS Pure Badger brush. It dries overnight, but it's been almost 36 hours since I lathered with the boars, and they're still damp.

Is that normal? Will they dry more quickly once they're broken in more?

Mine stay damp deep inside the knot for a long time. I think this is because the actual fibres themselves absorb water. After a shave I try to flick/squeeze as much water as possible out of the brush, then swirl the brush on my hand for a few seconds before leaving to dry.

Drying time *might* get faster as the brush breaks in, because the brush will bloom a little and open up, letting more air in.

It's a perfect excuse to have more than one brush...

Once the funk is truly gone everything gets better including drying time. Badgers do dry quicker.

My boar brushes (Omega 49 and 10005) are mostly dry in 24 hours, but I usually wait 48 before I use them again.

My badgers are usually completely dry within 24 hours.

My Semogue 1305 seems to never completely dry, but I do use it every few days. My badgers seem to dry same day most of the time.

I Truly hope B&B makes a full recovery, I didn't realize how great the community was until it was gone.

All my boars seem to take a day to dry. It was a great excuse to buy more.

Glad to know this is to be expected then. Something else I think I'll try is lightly rubbing with a towel when finished as well.

But not until the funk is gone.

My Omega 48 Professional usually takes a full 48 hours to dry completely. I also follow Gary's advice and invert my boar for drying, unlike my badgers which I rest on their bases.

I use my 1305 everyday and to dry I squeeze out, give a few sharp flicks and then sit at the cracked open bathroom window so it has a little sunlight and hopefully a nice breeze to help dry out.
However, as above, it is still slightly damp deep inside the knot the following day.

Hopefully my new badgers come in this week and I can start giving it more drying time between uses.
