    Default Who wears Maui Jim's?

I have always been a Ray Ban person. I needed a new pair of shades so I bought some Maui Jim's. The double polarization, the 2 year warranty and the fact they come with a real case sold me. I have been wearing them all afternoon. So far I am really impressed.

Those of you that wear them did I make a good choice. They are definitely a bit pricey.

Scott, I have had a few over the years. Initially I like them but eventually sell them. The last pair I bought was the Atoll. My son, who was visiting from Hawaii, took them back with him. They are good sunglasses.

I have several pairs and love them. I even have one pair of "readers" with the invisible line, that are especially handy when I'm doing things outside and need to read something. I have some metal Oakleys, too, which I also like, but I do like the light weightness of the MJs.

I have had several pairs and loved them all. Unfortunately, the reason I've had several pairs is that I lost them all. Ultimately I forbade myself from spending any more money on them.

For years I wouldn't look at any other make than Ray Ban but Maui Jim is doing what Ray Ban should have continued with; producing high end, excellent quality lenses and frames. I switched and wouldn't consider buying any other make. They're pricey but here in Western Australia you have to wear them almost every single day of the year and low quality sunnies just don't last. It's cheaper in the long run. You've chosen well in my opinion.

IMO Maui Jim's polarized lenses are top of the line. I have Oakley's, Ray Bans, Maui Jim's and Costa Del Mar glasses and i love the Maui Jims because they really cut the glare off of the water when i'm out at sea. I wear Oakley's around town but Jim's on the water.

I have a pair of Maui Jim's with prescription lenses that I wear every day. The heavy duty humongous case that came with them fell apart, so I picked up a soft-sided zip case with room to stow a microfiber cloth. Having been a longtime Ray-Ban guy for my prescription shades, I can say that the Maui Jim's way outclass the old wayfarers and baloramas that I was accustomed to. They seem to be wearing better over time, too. No wobbly hinges or any of that mess.

Highly recommended by a daily wearer.

If you're coming from Ray-Ban's, it makes sense. Wearing Ray-Bans is like wearing no sunglasses at all.

I have a pair of stingrays and a pair of whalers. I'm ruined for life I'll never be able to wear a pair of cheap sunglasses ever again.

Nope never tried them but may have to after reading this thread. I did have a pair of Oakley's and was not impressed - IMHO they were very over priced for something that felt that they would break if anything even small happened to them. Give me the original Ray Ban aviator's (sweat bar and wrap around ear pieces) anytime.

+1. My self-imposed limit is now $20 for sunglasses. Target has a nice selection in that price range. For some reason, I never seem to lose those.

I wear a pair of Maui Jim Pali in gunmetal grey. They are extremely lightweight, comfortable, and a great all-round pair of glasses. I even wear them for golf.

I'm very happy with mine. Light, comfortable, and the best outdoor vision I can get with my multi-focal contact lenses. A great birthday gift last year from Mrs. Jazzman, so the price didn't bother me at all.

I was interested in a pair, but unfortunately they were not a part of a buy one get on free deal for prescription eye wear. I ended up with aviator style Ray-Ban's for sun glasses, which I'm happy with so far. We'll see how they far against a summer of activity.

The sad thing is, this thread is starting to eat at my resolve. B&B is one dangerous place.

SWMBO loves her pair. Her ears are really sensitive and she says most sunglasses hurt her ears after wearing them for only a short time. This is the only pair of sunglasses that I've bought her that she actually wears.

I love the high quality, durable construction, and clarity of Maui Jim's. However, I ended up being sold on the lower price and classic design of my Ray Bans.

It was a tough call for me. I have always been a Ray Ban guy. But man I am almost a week into these and the vision is just phenomenal compared to any of the Raybans I have had. I think they are going to be worth the extra money.
