Default My first silvertip brush: Rooney 3/1 Super Silvertip

Hi guys. After having a really hard time on which brush to get, after 1 year with a tweezerman, I finally got my Rooney Super 3/1 and made a video for it with a famous classical track (Barber of Seville):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20REur8O5eE

The brush feels awesome. Yesterday was its first use; I'll post a review maybe in 1 week.

I hope you like my first video!

    Best regards from Mexico.

I got the same brush a week ago. My old Vulfix badger shed so much that I was completely unprepared for the density of the Rooney. I'm only now starting to get used to it. I still can't get over the density and now wonder what the really dense brushes are like and what I've been missing up to now.

I got mine from Classic Shaving. CS also has the "shortened loft" Rooneys that VB has, but CS has not yet updated their website. I sent a mail to them about a week ago to ask about that. And yes, comparing my rooney to my tweezerman, the Rooney's loft is slightly smaller, about 43-45 mm. The tweezerman has a loft of about 52mm.

Enjoy the brush! I have had my eye on this one for a while now, and is next on my buy list. I would like to hear more about your experiences with it after you have had a chance to use it for awhile.

Congratulations! The Rooney 3/1 is a beautiful brush and I would say it's as good as anything else I've owned for both quality and ease of use.

All the best features are there like the easy to hold, comfortable handle and the knot is one of those types which has no trouble with either soaps or creams. A great middle of the road brush and well recommended.

There is a shop in the UK which stocks Rooney brushes. I had a quick check a few minutes ago and, at the moment, they have a good supply including the 3/1 in faux horn a couple of people have named.

I have dealt with Brian at Executive Shaving a few times and it has always been great (I have no connection or ties to the shop, I'm just a happy customer) He sends leaflets with the orders and online newsletters - the last one I got gave a 10% discount with the code yipee2010

    Hope this helps,

I see that the difference bt the one from executive shaving and the one from vintage blades is that the loft for the one from vintage is 44cm while that of the one from executive shaving is 55cm? Is there is big difference in use?

VAT is the rough equivalent of sales tax, and you shouldn't have to pay it.
