Question on Merkur Progress

When you change the blade on a Progress, does it hurt for the actual metal post to come out of the razor? By metal post I mean the piece that the plastic adjustment knob is attached to. I usually clean my razor every time I change a blade. I will usually take the head off and then take the adjustment knob post out and then spray them down with Scrubbing Bubbles and go over with an old toothbrush.

I remove this bit too for cleaning (it also comes out on HD/Slant type Merkurs) and have noticed no ill effects so far. I suppose that, as long as you remove and reinsert it gently, nothing will happen.

I also clean my Progress the same way. There is no harm done by doing this since the razor was designed to come apart in this manner.
