    Default 8,867 Miles Traveling PIF

Hey guys...an idea struck me about my first custom brush. The handle traveled 8,867 miles (at least) from Hyderabad, India to end up on my shelf in Phoenix, AZ. It was knotted with a 16mm TGN finest and is a great little brush. It's really only decorative for me at this point as I've graduated to a large Silvertip. I'd like to send it around the US, Alaska and Hawaii included.

    The Fine Print:

    • If you want it, add your name to the list in your reply (please append the full list in your reply to keep the running tab)
    • Keep it for a week
    • You must agree to take a picture of the brush at a recognizable landmark of your city and post it in this forum
    • You must clean it before sending it out
    • You must contact the next person in the list for shipping information and agree to pay shipping to said individual
    • Have fun with the picture!
    • The person shipping the brush will post in this forum how many miles it will travel to the next destination
    • Take care of her...the brush was my first, and has some sentimental value

I think that's about it. Moderators, please let me know if I'm in violation of any rules. I'll keep a running tab of the mileage...let's see where and how far it will travel. I'm kicking around the idea of sending it outside US in the future (the photo ops may be just too good to pass up), but we'll leave it at US to start.

    On to the brush!

I tried a MMOC once. I've sinced switched to straight razor shaving because it was less dangerous.

Glad to see you're up for the challenge Pkrankow...you have to take the picture with Tressel's sweatervest.

A suggestion might be to see if we can get all 50 states done and then work outside CONUS. Good Pif

WOW!! That's an absolutely gorgeous brush!

Ever hear of Geocaching? There's a facet of that activity where "travel bugs" travel all around the country & the world. Geocaching.com keeps Google maps recording the travels of each bug, marking each place it stops on a map with a dot, with the dots connected in order depicting its route, and keeping a tally of total mileage traveled. I'm not sure how they do that, but if someone here perhaps knows how, maybe we can track the travels of your brush in a similar way.

Also, if hitting all 50 states is to be a goal, perhaps we can include our state when we sign up. Just an idea.

    Pkrankow - Ohio
    NoelyDeezNutz - New York
    CaptainK - Michigan

EDIT: I took the liberty of adding the states of the other participants.

Nice handle. Please do not include me in the PIF, however.

    I have an idea.

    We include a Dollar bill.
Get on WheresGeorge.com and start a route with it.
Pass the dollar along with the brush, use it to track where the brush has gone and the total distance traveled as well as the time it took!

Let them do all the work... lol

I like the Dollar bill idea...should be simple enough to keep it going with the brush. I don't want to limit to only one stop in the 50 states, so if it does a little back and forth, all the better. Hell, why not have everyone sign the bill?

Here's what I've got for the list so far:

    Pkrankow - Ohio
    NoelyDeezNutz - New York
    CaptainK - Michigan
    dpflaum - North Carolina

Ok guys...while we only have 4 on the list, I'm going to get it started anyway. I've pm'd for the shipping info from Pkrankow and I will ship it with the dollar bill on Friday. Hopefully our "brush tourist" pics will spark some interest.

    Get those cameras ready!
