need a slim humidifier

hey gents! So I need your help. I bought a small desktop humidor to compliment my current humidor but the humidifier that it came with is freaking enormous! It's so tall that I can't really put more than a layer of cigars in the humidor (a supposedly 25 count) in the area where it is.

So, can you guys suggest any thin humidifiers you've used and liked? The current humidifier is 2.5mm from where it's stuck to the lid and the humidor is 5mm deep up to the top lip. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated, as always!

I recommend one of the gel/crystal tubes you can get at most tobacco shops. They are about the size of a short slim corona, taking up the space of 1 cigar. I used them almost exclusively in my 15? humidors until I got a large end table humidor 10 cubic feet. They worked perfectly and most can be used with tap water, but I always preferred distilled to be safe. I use an electronic humidifier now.

Just make sure the water is completely absorbed into the crystals and shake out any excess water.

I forgot they have the same crystal in small puck form made to attach to the lid of a humi.

Boveda Humidity Pack

These sound perfect for your application they can go directly on or under cigars and are pretty thin

First thing that I thought of was one of the crystal tubes, as they take up no more space than a single cigar, but the Boveda packs seem to have a lot of fans. I haven't used them, personally, but I trust the opinion of the folks here.

I am a big fan of crystals myself, but I like the idea of being able to pick specific humidity levels as claimed by the Boveda packets. Seems perfect if it works as advertised.

As much as I don't like disposable things, I have to admit these packets seem to fit the bill quite well!

The Boveda packs work very well, but are not rechargeable and need to be replaced every couple of months or so. I'm pretty sure I've see different humidity levels for some of the crystal tubes and pucks, too. I'll try to remember to check next time I'm in my local smoke shop. Should be tomorrow or Saturday.

Right now I'm using one of the Xikar cystal humidifiers. I've got the 50ct and it's very small. I use it in my travel humidor...I think it's a 10 cigar...and it fits very well and keeps a nice steady 70% RH.

I checked that today. The crystal tubes my smoke shop carries don't have different humidity levels.

Just what I was going to suggest. The same set up is also available in a small jar configuration. You might need more than one of the "corona" shaped ones depending on the capacity of your humi.
