    Default ohhh, FACE lather....

wow. I was able to face lather for the first time today. I've gotten better over time at bowl lathering, but the whole face lathering thing was just not happening. I was toying with improving my soap lathering skills (woeful at best before this morning's revelation) and saw some good lather coming together so I decided to give the ol' face lather a shot. Cleared the brush to get an honest start, loaded and swirled, then wonder of wonders the single best batch of lather I have ever made. nice and wet, slick, all the things you want a lather to be. I may be a convert.

Shave quality has been improving daily, btw. I guess it's due to the fact my face can finally handle daily shaves and I can practice more frequently. Woo!

You have to love face lathering. It's part of my daily ritual. I'm glad you discovered how good it can be! Congrats

I really think the time lathering and working it into your beard results in a better shave.

I face lathered for the first time also today. I used VDH because I found it at Rite Aid yesterday for $2.50 and had to give it a try. It wasn't bad at all! Good lather and a good shave!

    What did you use?

Face lathering is the only way to go. I even sold my scuttles since I never use them anymore.

I used VDH Deluxe. I wasn't about to buy anything else if I couldn't get sorted with that. Now I'm so impressed with the shave I got I may stick with it for a while.

I liked it also. And it was the first soap I didn't have an allergic reaction to. I am going to keep it in my rotation also!

    Congrats!!!

I face lather exclusively. Best lather... doesn't matter, soap, cream it's all good!

Really helps get the beard ready for a shave.

I prefer to bowl lather - except when I travel when I use a shaving stick and face lather.

Just started to face lather w/ Pre de Provence. I love it. Haven't face-lathered any creams yet. But I may try it. Then again, once I'm done with my current stash of creams, I may go strictly soap.

Face lathering is what wakes me up! Seriously...I noticed that when I face lather I'm more ready to handle the emergencies that come up during the day! I'm a systems engineer for a company that makes 911 call-taking systems and I really do love my job....

I used to be an exclusive bowl latherer, but after switching to face lathering, I have not looked back. Face lathering is the way to go

    Default think I'm hooked

Face lathered again today; lather wasn't *as* awesome as yesterday's (I think today's brush was the culprit, only changed variable) but I still got one of the better shaves in my two weeks (+/- 12 shaves) of DE shaving. I'm going to stick with it a while as I really enjoy it and I am getting much better lather and shaves.

How many of you face lather creams though? I'm pretty damn happy face lathering my FAT, and I was wondering if I should try the same with creams.

That makes two of us! Pre de Provence is great stuff, and face-lathering seems to be the easiest way for me.
