Muhle R89 (iKon Bulldog handle) + Lord Super Chrome...the handle that came with this razor had no knurling and got very slippery; also, it was very light--almost felt hollow. What a difference this iKon handle makes!!

At first I tried a Mekur 33c head on a Jagger DE89 handle--fair at best. Then I went to my standby, Merkur Progress and Persona Surg. Med Prep blade. I may have to go back to Astra blades out of curiosity. Astras became my second best blade after trying the Med Prep blade. However, to know for sure, I'll have to do a bit of side-by-side comparison yet again. The Astra actually delivers more shaves per blade and improves after the first shave whereas the Persona begins to decline after shave one. My other Progress will get an Astra blade and I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Had an "INCREDIBLE" shave with my Red Imp straight razor Friday (see here), so today I used my Mergress, along with AoS Lemon and a mixture of half Osage Rub and half Skin Bracer. Mmmmmmmmm....

'28 Gold New Improved + '67 Gillette Super Blue Blade (1)

Very sweet shave. I wanted to compare this blade to the vintage Schick Deluxe I used yesterday, and Gillette wins hands down.
