I used the same one I use every day--a 1951 Gillette Aristocrat with a Wilkinson Sword blade. I'm thinking of getting some Persona blades. Any thoughts about them?

It is just soap, hot water and a sharp blade. It isn't rocket science or a Zen ritual.
I prefer Astra SP but I use Wilkies and Personnas almost every day. I don't mind them. Be sure to get the Personna branded ones, not a drug store or supermarket brand. The actual Personna branded blades work better for me. If you can get hold of some Israeli Personnas, from West Coast Shaving, I think you will like them.

Muhle 2011 R41 "Muhleskinner" razor with a Feather Hi-Stainless blade on it's fifth shave and ToBS Rose shave cream followed by a splash of Avon's Tai Winds AS.
The R41 had been benched for three weeks for a cooling off period due to unnecessary roughness and the Merkur 39c "Sledgehammer" stepped up to take it's place. I'm glad to report that this morning's shave was worry free and smooth as a baby's bottom.

Just got a Feather razor, tried it out today. Tried PermaSharps then changed to Kai- not sharp enough. Will try Feather blades next. Heard this was a mild razor, but geesh
