Gillette Fatboy with Personna Blue Labs. The combo gave me a great close shave, BBS in two passes.

I prefer Astra SP but I use Wilkies and Personnas almost every day. I don't mind them. Be sure to get the Personna branded ones, not a drug store or supermarket brand. The actual Personna branded blades work better for me. If you can get hold of some Israeli Personnas, from West Coast Shaving, I think you will like them.

I think Personnas are perfect to straight razors, but as soon I use them in a comb head, I have a feeling like they are not sharp enough.

To paraphrase Gary (GDCarrington), "you have to work with what you have".

Well today I was officially out of my "real" shaving creams and soaps, so I had to use the Gillette Fusion ProGlide. I had purcahsed this goo months ago in case of an emergency, well today was an emergency, as I was out of everything.

I probably should not have attempted to build a lather in a bowl, as you can see, it does not look very good, it was airy, lots of bubbles and too wet.

It applied well enough, was extremely slick, but had little cushion. It performed enough to get the job done, so in the end that is all that matters.

I must say, I do love the smell of it, as it has a nice and clean scent that I find refreshing.

I wish that Gillette would make a tube cream with this scent similar to the Barbasol Non Aerosol Therapeutic Shave Cream instead of this blue goo.

Are you going for 100 on this Derby? I'm really curious as to how you are making it last so long. Low shave angle and hand stroping can only go so far...

I am not aiming for a specific number, I will use it until it feels "dead" like normal.
