Default Another Watch Thread - Titoni Help

Thanks to the recent watch thread I now have a strong desire for a vintage Titoni watch. I have looked around pmwf, I cannot find clear concise information due to my inexperience with their "message board" style setup.

There seems to be a lot of watch experts here, so perhaps one of you could answer a few questions :

    1) What are some of the more sought after models?
    2) Why do "similar" looking models/condition vary so wildly on ebay?

    3) Is buying of ebay a good idea (Thailand, Singapore, Philippines etc).

I really like this "909" model but have no idea if it is worth the buy it now price or if someone is just fishing for a newbie like me. Thoughts?

Also this "space star" looks nice but I can find no information on it (google)

My budget is in and around $100. Could someone recommend the best bang for my buck and where to get it?

    Thanks in advance

The Titoni watches were heavily marketed in Asia during the '50s and '60s which is why you'll find a lot of them in the Phillipines etc

The Cosmo Kings, which are reminiscent of the Rolex Oyster Perpetuals, are usually higher in price with the models carrying the day at the 12 o'clock position, sought after.

I have a 25 jewel Rotomatic Airmaster which can be had for less than the Cosmo King. There is also a manual version of the Airmaster.

Just had a look at the Airmaster on ebay.

It's nice but you can get decent vintage Airmasters for less

Which one are you referring to? The "909"?

    Thanks for the replies.
