Default Has anyone heard of or thoughts on these...

A friend just went to Wal mart and got me some PRECISION BLADES knowing that I like DE shaving, she said they cost CAD$1.49 for ten!
They are from Israel and imported in Canada by NATIONAL BLADE COMPANY LTD, the package is a red diagonal stripe on a black background with yellow writing, seeing as they cost me nothing it's a bargin, just wondered if anyone had heard oof them or used them. I searched this site but nothing came up except Wal mart own brand and these have no wal mart markings, I will try one tommorow and let you know..Gulp

I saw them, bought a pack and haven't had the interest/guts to try them yet.

    Definitely get the blade sampler.

Saw them here too, right next to the Russian Gillettes at $8 something for 10. Thought about it but didn't pick any up. I'd like to hear your experiences with them, if and when you give them a try.

The choices of DE blades here in Ontario are few and far between. Thankfully, I'm close to the border. I'll check and see what is available over there.

Well, minutes after my shave with these little buggers here's what I have to report!
Keep in mind I am new to DE shaving and have only so far used Merkur blades( an order to letterk will be on it's way next week!)

I found they drag a little more than the merkurs, I did a WTG felt my face and found that the precisions took more of the hair off on the first pass than the merkurs! second pass I do WTG and even more came off, then XTG and I was nearly BBS!!!! one ATG apart from a few patches where I went over twice( I always seem to have a few spots I miss!) I had a BBS complete! No blood, no razor burn, I am sitting here typing this, my face feels fresh and smooth.

So apart from a little more drag they were great! If the purpose of a blade is to shave the beard with as little irritation and as efficiently as possible then I score these very highly, I must say I am extremly suprised, remember these cost CAD$1.49 for ten! I guess that would be around US$ 1.10

So no blood letting, no nasties just a good clean shave, what more can you ask for!

Thanks for risking your face and posting the review. Think I'll pick up a pack or two and try them also.

If I wasn't working my way through the sampler pack I would have bought these to try. Check out "Anything for a buck or two" stores they have some Indian made DE blades, rather expensive at 10 for 2 dollars but Toronto area Shoppers upped the price of the Russian Gillettes to $14.

Noticed the price increase at Shoppers here too. I ordered 100 Derbys on EBay for about $17 CDN. They should arrive any day. Sure beats the price of 10 Gillettes at SDM!

The gillettes I have seen in LD and SD are expensive compared to the merkurs I get locally.
It's 16.15 pst and my face is still smooth and no sign of stubble, for a buck forty nine you can't loose getting the precisions, I will be interested on how others do with these, hopefully we have found a bargin here.
I notice on the forums everyone raving about blades from Isreal where these are from, wonder if they are all made in the same factory! By the way, the blades say polymer coated whatever that means!
On another note I think I have RAD coming on! I just saw that my local shaving store has got the new merkur 38c...Must resist, must resist!

I use the Precision blades all the time and I LOVE 'em. I even have a half pack of Merkurs I am ignoring in favour of these great, cheap and easy to get blades (for us Canadians at least).

I gotta think these are made in the same factory as the iconic "Israeli Personnas" as knowing Israel's kibbutz manufacturing system as I do, there aren't many situations where there are multiple factories turning out similar and competing product (especiallty a product as esoteric as DS blades).

I'm thinking these Precisions are the same as the IPs in off-market packaging.

They are a great shave and equal in price to the "box o' 100s" of most brands you can snag off Ebay, but free of shipping costs (and wait times)... and repressive duties levied by our tax happy Canadian government.

I urge all who have access to these to score some and give them a try (unless of course you live in Calgary... then just leave 'em be dammit.)

That's great CB Especially seeing as you know the system there, I must admit it has been many years since I was in Isreal but from what I remember there were not that many factories out there! I was thinking the same as you that they all may come from the same plant!
it's nearly 9.00pm pst and still remarkablly little stubble on my face, A great shave!

I used the blades from WalMart for about 10 years with Williams shave soap. I was happy with them until I tried Feather blades which I now use. The only other blade I tried was Merkur but I found the WalMart blades preferable.
