Default Barbershop Restore and Tune Up.

So I had this old Barbershop Brush lying around looking like junk and finally decided to give it a little makeover. The problem is that originally I was going to give it to a buddy of mine for his birthday now I'm not so sure. Anyway it started out with the silver top with Barbershop on it in black but the paint was all messed up so I removed it and found I liked the ivory color underneath. Then came the handle, the coating was cracking and looked really bad, so I sanded it down and gave it a Merlot stain. Here's what I have so far.

    Looks good!

I've got one very similar that I am restoring now. I've got the handle stripped and sanded.

Now I've just got to order some knots...

some deft spray lacquer might be an easier option... ca is difficult to uniformly apply on a round object without a lathe.

agree with the others, looks nice!
