Closest would be a PL10, I'd think. (And there just happens to be one on its way to me!)

The PL8, 10 and 12 and roughly equivalent to CH 1, 2 and 3. Not the same knots, but quite close.

I'm jealous Marco! My Chubby1 is a spittin image of that but my Chubby2 came to me as a fan shape. Still a wonderful brush but I prefer the look and function of the bulb like yours.

Well done Marco. Thank you for the nice picture. Why shop around for limited edition brushes if you don't have a classic like that in your den?

Why do they insist on continuing a classic line with these damn bulb knots?

I had a CH2 that had a wonderful short semi-bulb/fan, just like the originals. Until Vulfix standardise or at least explain why it is they are doing this, I'm holding off buying another.

That is a lovely brush Marco. I just recently bought myself the Duke 3 in best, which I know is one of your favorites!

If my BAD doesn't settle down I will have to make the tough decision of which Chubby to buy 1 or 2? 1 or 2? 1 or 2? Thats what I hear as I try to get to sleep at night!

    Anyhow.....Enjoy!

I'm not Marco but I would go Duke3 or Chubby2. The Chubby1 is a very short loft.

I agree on the Chubby 2 over the Chubby 1. And I am Marco.

Chubby 1 loft 47: Duke 3 loft 46. Basically same brush with different handles. Duke 3 might blossom more due to knot depth. My Chubby 1 is probably 50% less bloom than my Colonel but much more dense.

I just sold a Duke3 and thought the Chubby would be a better brush but the blossom on the Duke3 had more room for lather in bloom.

I have both and absolutely agree that the Duke 3 blooms more and distributes more lather with ease than the CH 2

I need to clarify. I think the Duke3 distributes lather better than the Chubby1.Chubby2 lays the lather down superbly.

I had to bring this thread back for two reasons: first, I very much enjoy Marco's reviews and his photos; second, I am waiting on a hand picked CH2 Best to be delivered from the Isle of Man, and the anticipation is killing me.

Anyone else out there feeling the Chubby love?

Thank you kindly for the nice words, Andrew! And congrats on your new CH2 Best, the most legendary Simpson brush of them all!

Marco, you have long been one of my prime enablers. This will be my second CH2 Best. I bought the first one without help from a vendor, and the knot was not quite what I was looking for. It looked nothing like yours, but had more of a 2-band appearance, almost like Pure. It was a great brush, but too scritchy for me. I now have CH2s in both 2 and 3 band Super, and I feel I must add a nice example of Best to round things out. Silly, I know, but that's just the way the SBAD goes.

I used mine today with MdC soap and my GEM Damaskeene razor (GEMini Month) and had a wonderful shave. Its one of my top three favorite brushes.
