Default Used the 39C and didn't bleed

I didn't think this was possible for me as I have only used my 39C a few very painful times in nearly 3 years of DE shaving. However this afternoon I took up this vicious beast loaded with my usual Feather blade, knowing that I could take as long as I like (turned out to be about 10 minutes longer than I usually take). I used TOBS lavender cream instead of my usual soap in order to get a really thick protective lather. Did my usual 3 and a half passes, very carefully, and was astonished to find I had escaped blood-free even though I could feel the aggressiveness of the razor almost before the blade touched my face. So good news. Only downside was I didn't feel the result was any closer than using the non-slant 38C, or in fact even the much milder Tech. I have a thick, dark stubble which I understood is what the slant is particularly efficient to mow down. I would be interested to know if anyone else has experienced this with the 39C. Is it perhaps just a case of getting used to a much bigger, aggressive razor? I don't like having tools that I'm scared to use!

Had my 39C for a couple of weeks now, and coming from an EJ89L and some Merkur straight bars, I was surprised just how easy this slant is to use. The Feather is my usual blade and never a spot of blood to be seen on all uses so far. This has become my favourite razor now. I don't have a thick beard, pretty average I would say, but this slant cuts with a vocal sound like no other. And the end result always BBS with just 3 passes, without the 4th touch up I usually have to do.

    Thumbs up

Hello Grouse79: from Fife, Scotland (Yeah Baby!!!).

First of all, I think Congrats are in order for using your 39C after an almost 3yrs hiatus from using that razor (I have the 23C & 38C and equally love them both).
