Default Random question re: Simpson's Brushes

    Hey Folks,

I can't really decide between a Simpson's Duke 2 and Grosvenor LE as my next brush (for face lathering soaps). It stands to reason that I should buy one, and if I don't like it, sell it on the B/S/T forum and then try the other.

That being said, I'm thinking it would make sense to try the one that would be easier to sell (near it's original price) first, so if it doesn't work out it'll be easy to recoup most of my investment before trying the second.

So what do you guys think? Which would garner more interest after being used very briefly (1-2 weeks)?

**Haha i realize this is a silly question.
    Thanks,

    Rick

For most 'durable' shaving goods, you'll be able recoup most of your cost when you resell it as long as it is still in 'like new' shape.

Lets take, for example, the Duke 2. It sells for $85 from WCS. You try it for a few lathers and realize it's not for you. You could try to turn around and resell it for $75 shipped. So after shipping and paypal fees you wind up with ~ $67.75. While yes, you would be out a little money but that's the price you pay for trying it out.

Just as an aside, I've never understood people that say, "Used it. Found out it wasn't for me. Asking what I have into it plus shipping and fees." Why would anyone pay ~3% more plus shipping for something used instead of just buying it new? I'm more speaking about higher-end items that are already over most vendors 'free shipping' break-point. Obviously for discontinued items, this goes out the window.

So I shouldn't put the brush back up on B/S/T for $110, in barely used condition?

That is correct, you need to ask $125 + shipping
