Default I like the Bay Rum- what else?

Last Christmas I ordered a bottle of Gabels Bay Rum. I followed that by picking up a bottle of Clubman Bay Rum (at Walgreens). I really like them both, the Gabels is light and refreshing while the Clubman is spicier.

Problem is neither of them lasts long at all. I assume this must be the nature of Bay Rum AS in general. I know that my Old Spice sticks around for hours!

So my question is, since I like the Bay Rum scent, what else might I like that has a little more staying power? Also, how does the regular Pinaud AS do for staying power?

    thanks,

    Rick

Ogallala makes a Bay Rum Cologne (and aftershaves) with several variations.

I'm not sure what other brands will hold on longer.

The other Pinaud AS (Clubman, Clubman musk, those are the two I have) last all day for me. I can still smell them as I leave work if I put my nose in my shirt.

I have Meehan Bay Rhum and while I really like it, I can't say it lasts any longer then others.

You're on the right track with Pinaud Clubman.

What about Saint Charles Shave bay rum cologne?

If there's a Sally Beauty Supply in your area (and there likely is) pick up a bottle of Masters Bay Rum. About $8.50 a bottle nice stuff you can really smell the bay tree oil in it. Not "spicy" but very nice and it also contains glycerin.

Lustray "Spice" (the amber not the blue) has a good Bay Rum-like component. Good stuff.

I'm right there with ya brother! I'm awaiting an order of DOminica Bay Rum Original. I'm hoping this classic has more staying power.

This is what I use. I seem to get an occasional whiff of it throughout the day. I really like it.

    Thanks everyone,

I picked up a bottle of Pinaud Cubman (the regular- not the bay rum) and MAN is it strong stuff! I'm still trying to decide if I like it -- I think I like a faint whiff of it, but when it's on me strong it reminds me of Janitor-guy smell.

I love Clubman Bay Rum and I have a bottle of Ogallala's Bay Rum. The Ogallala is much sweeter like it has vanilla added to it. I don't really care for it. I have yet to find one that balances spice and staying power. I was told to try St. Charles Shave, but haven't sprung for it yet.

Clubman Bay Rum is at it's best after it has burned off. An hour after it is applied is the best. It stays with me for most of the day, but not all day.

Pinaud Clubman stays ALL DAY. It can be overbearing if you get too much on. I use it sparingly on work days, if ever. Usually reserved for Saturday or Sunday.

Well, I've gotten used to the Pinaud Clubman and really enjoy it after it mellows out a bit. It's a very subtle, spicy scent that lasts for most of the day.

I have both, but I would probably classify the Pinaud as more of a mixed spice as opposed to a true bay rum. Also, I find the Pinaud to be quite persistant.

The Gabel's is very subtle, but in truth I can generally still catch a hint of it the following morning when I shower and the hot water hits my face and suspect it is at least somewhat noticable to others through out the day of application.

Do not make the mistake of thinking that just because you cannot smell it on yourself others cannot smell it on you. This is a common error and leads to overuse of the fragrance. In truth, if you can still smell it on yourself 30 minutes after application, you have used too much, and you should probably apologise to others around you.
