    Default A purge thru writing.

Played two decidedly poor hands in a poker tournament I should have at the very least made the final table in. So I am writing to let out some self directed aggression.

    1. Does anyone else find the loose lid on the Tabac soap irritating? Seems like poor design.

EDIT Proraso is it really soap? Appears to be semi-hard cream to me.

    2. Can someone point me to the "pay it forward " thread if there is one? I would like to know what the idea is and the procedures to follow and no I didn't see the movie.

    3. What would you have bid on this and is there really a fatboy in this lot as a commenter said there was?
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...K%3AMEDWX%3AIT

    4. Who on this board bought this?

    5. If I obtain a less aggressive razor than the Merkur 34c will using a Feather blade be a waste or, as I hope, a great blade with a less agressive razor will require more passes but I will get the best of both worlds? The razor is not agressive but the blade is unforgiving. Probably looking at four passes but so what if it gives a nice shave.

    6. Do not go to Crabtree & Everlyn in Las Vegas. They have exactly three bowls of soap and three matching aftershave balms.

    7. In Vegas for a big event and need a haircut or shave? Staright razor shave I might add. Not far goff the Strip is a little hole in the wall barber shop that will not bust your budget at all. The Huntridge Barber Shop on Maryland Parkway and Charleston is the place to go. Found this place from the Art of Manliness websites Barber shop locator but it is no longer listed. The last time I was there Rob said they were looking to move to a new location ( close to me, yea!) But I don't think that has happened yet.
    Anyway

I much prefer Alma to Rob.
Rob is young and learning the craft. Alma gives an amazing cut that lasts.

    Huntridge Barber Shop

I have never seen anyone else at this shop so I cannot speak to their proficiencies.

    8. Still pissed about the tourney but my wife and I have three hrs of TV to watch and nothing is better than time spent with her.

    Peace

He got married to middle pair and couldn't lay it down to a donkey.

Either that, or he got outdrawn on the River in the first hand, went on tilt and played his second hand fuming.

In reality, I have no idea, but I agree it would be interesting to read about the hand history.

I don't know if there is a PIF stickie or rules. You can state who gets the gear. I posted a PIF with Marines top pick followed by active duty and newbies with fewer than 100 posts.

Whoever bid on the lot got a bargain. Most fatboys go for more than that.

Straight razor shaves? I envy you.

I like the top of the Tabac container. A few soaps, including Tabac, are somewhere between hard soaps and creams. The variety is cool!

It was a NASCAR Charity event. The race is here on Sunday.
It was a stange setup. There were five tables for 150 player. In the opening round three shifts played until there were three players left at each table. Those 45 plus 15 driver plus 30 "wild cards" drawn from a drum(It was a second chance for those who got knocked out in the first round.)
You then had to win your table in this semi final round to get to the final table.
The first two rounds had the following structure
    Starting chips 1500
    Blinds
    100-200
    200-400
    400-800
So yo can see that if you go in you really should shove if you play a hand because you are crippled immediately if you were to limp and fold. You are crippled at the start actually.

So in the semifinal round I had 1200 chips after my blinds. The blinds were 200-400 and stupidly limped with AJ. no explanation. Just lack of focus.
I miss the flop, Fold to a bet. And, of course, the ace comes on the turn.
Two hands later I am the big blind(400) with 800 behind. Folds to the small blind who calls, I get mid pair on the flop, Small blind hesitates then checks, I go all in.she calls with top pair and I don't improve.
This was a field of NASCAR fans maybe 10% actually knew how to play poker. every step had to be explained to by the dealer. A bad bad day for me.

Not a chauvinist, raised by strong women who I love and respect more than any man on this planet. BUT being honest it hurts me so much worse losing to a woman...

Lol @ 7.5BB to start the tournament. Talk about a push-fest! They must have wanted the tournament over in about 1 hour. There's no way playing that kind of tournament has any +EV.

Yeah, no way I'm letting SB in for 1/2 a bet. If she's going to limp when it's heads up, she's gonna get raised before the flop even comes out.

Not much you can do in that type of tourney structure. Gotta get lucky early and often... sorry you had a bad day. Gotta love poker... one of the few professions where you can go to work one day, work all day and end up with *LESS* money than when you started that morning.

I don't think anyone is ashamed to lose to a woman who knows what she's doing.
