The Oscars and shoes

I don't know how many of you pay attention to the way the men dress at the Oscars but i've noticed that they never name drop shoe companies. It's always something like, "I'm wearing Armani," or "I'm wearing Versace," but it inevitably ends up being about the suit, not the shoes.

so does anyone know what kind of shoes the stars wear at these Hollywood awards shows? they all seem to wear patent leather shoes but I have no idea which brands. I wonder if celebrities are aware of the many high-end shoe brands out there, or do they just go to the most expensive store on Rodeo Drive and buy what the salesperson tells them to?

Perhaps men's shoes just don't have the same cachet as women's shoes.

I mean, even I, a 46 year old male, have heard of Jimmy Choo and Manalo Blahnik - and I am certainly no metrosexual nor 'Sex & The City' fan!

I imagine most of them get free shoes so that they promote the maker.

'they' I suspect are wearing the shoes that whomever they are wearing gave them to wear. Versace or whomever isn't going to have them wear their tux and ruin it with crap shoes.
