Default Anyone Have Experience With These Fragrances

Ordered a few samples from Lucky Scent to test for spring/summer, anyone know anything about them?

    1. Knize Ten - lot of people on this board rave about it so I thought I would give it a try.

    2. Carthusia Uomo - Notes: Citrus, cedar, kelp, cashmere, notes of sea air and essences of fruit. Carthusia Uomo

    3. Diptyque Vetyverio - Notes: mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, vetiver, carrot seed, apricot, nutmeg, clove, ylang ylang, Turkish rose, geranium, cedarwood, musk. Vetyverio

    4. Heeley Sel Marin - Notes: lemon, Sicilian bergamot, sea salt, seaweed, vetiver, birch, cedar. Sel Marin

I only have experience with Knize 10 and it is excellent. A great wet shaver scent. Similar to Creeds Royal English Leather, but a bit more floral. Long lasting and manly. Not very summery though.

I've hear that Sel Marin was synthetic garbage but some like it.

Knize 10 will make you smell like a decayed leather chair with a beautiful amber drydown. (I mean this in a good way). The Vintage version smells a little different but both are similar enough.

Knize Ten ranks among the top leather scents, but it is powerful juice. I wanted to like it, tried hard, but I think the castoreum, orris, geranium, and musk prevent it.

Top: Bergamot, Lemon, Orange, Petitgrain, Rosemary
Middle Notes: Geranium, Cedarwood, Rose, Orris, Carnation, Cinnamon, Sandalwood
Base Notes: Leather, Musk, Moss, Amber, Castoreum and Vanilla

I, too, just ordered Carthusia Uomo.

Diptyque Vetyverio: This may not be too helpful, but Diptyque's take on vetiver is thoroughly Diptyquian. Which is to say herbal. If you know any other of their frags, you already have a good sense of this one. I'm afraid I was disappointed. I can't say it's bad but I realize that apricot and carrot seed don't work for me in my favorite note, vetiver. (Clove and nutmeg may be an issue for me nose as well. But perhaps your nose will love them!)
Heeley Sel Marin: I think the frag is aptly named, but I found the saltiness strong. The use of sea weed and birch seemed to intensify the brininess. On the other hand, it's a quality aquatic. A softer salty frag is The Different Company's Sel de Vetiver. At first, the sel put me in mind of grass on a sunny ocean hillside. But to my nose, the sel overpowered the vetiver.
In any event, your nose is in for a ride!

I'm most interested in Carthusia Uomo - Notes: Citrus, cedar, kelp, cashmere, notes of sea air and essences of fruit. I'm interested to smell the "notes of sea air".

I'm trying to find something similar to 1805 but more complex.

I won't comment on the others, but I did recently try the Heeley Sel Martin. It is an aquatic.

To my nose, it smells exactly like L'eau d'Issey with a touch of salt water added to it. If you have tried the Issey or T&H 1805, you should have an idea as to what this one is all about.

Received my samples last night, trying Knize 10 today. I understand what you mean when you say, "Leather"!. The first thing that I thought of was the Anchorman quote about leather bound books and Indiana Jones.

I'll be interested in hearing your impression of the Vetyverio. I had a sample, but it's been well over a year ago. I seem to recall it had a lot more going on, in a citrusy way, than just vetiver, but still the vetiver came through nicely.

+1 on the Knize 10. The only Heeley I've tried (I own a full bottle as well) is Espirit du Tigres and I like it very much.

You thought it said, "Spirit of Tigers!"
