Old Type Experts, Question for you

Its sad that I've been here this long and I'm posting a thread with this title....

So I recently picked up this gillette, which I thought was a nickel new. The handle appears to be a nickel new, but the head doesn't seem right. It has the "dot" common on the new standards, and the base plate has a code starting with F. Any one have any ideas, or is this a frankenrazor?

The NEW did not come with the Old Type head. So yes that is a Frankenrazor.

The Common bar handle came with a short or long comb.

Well, at least now you have a nice nickel NEW handle!

The head is a 1918 Old Type. There were over 3.5 million made that year. The handles were very faulty. Chances are that the original owner loved the Old Type shave and bought one of the new NEW's for the handle and probably threw the head away.
