FS (Intl.) ERN ATOR & ERN Crown&Sword "1166" + Sheffield fine India steel
---EVERYTHING IS NOW SOLD---
The ATOR were one of ERN’s high-end models.
It has an unusual hunch-back design & an overall look that really makes it stand out.
They are also made in a bigger 6/8 + model, & I now have a craving for one of those…
Damn SRAD…
Blade is in excellent condition, the scales are a bit roughed up, some scribbled letters & one scale is broken at the butt pin.
Someone has fixed it with glue, so it’s stable & doesn’t affect performance.
It’s shave-ready, honed by Mastro Livi. I wrote a little about that here.
I had one great shave with it & now it’s time for someone else to experience the Mastro's edge on this
very fine razor, while I go find a bigger one... Stupid AD's
I bought this one for 49 USD shipped & that is what I would like to get back.
I’ll ship it out cleaned, stropped & lightly oiled.

ERN Crown&Sword 1166 ,13/16 “Extra hollow ground”
Another high-end straight from ERN.
And another one I got a real taste for & now looking to score a flawless specimen…
This is infact rather nice, if it wasn’t shortened a centimeter or so..
However, at least with my way of shaving, it doesn’t really affect anything, & the shortening
has been made by someone who obviously knew what he was doing.
Blade shows signs of old surface rust/pitting, but nothing that effects the edge at all.
Scales are original & in very nice condition.
Blade sits snugly & centers perfectly.
As for the edge & shaving capabilities this is without doubt one of the finest German razors I’ve tried. Excellent edge & shave!
1166’s in good condition fetch rather high prices, but I really need one…
So I think this is a good way to try a 1166, without paying thru the nose.
Freshly honed, tested, stropped & cleaned by yours truly.
Finished on my little lovely La Grosse Blanche coticule.
Wipe the oil of & shave away!
Asking 50 USD or buy it together with the ATOR to get 2 of Germany’s finest for 90 USD shipped.

“The Celebrated Fine India Steel Razor” 5/8 wedge.
This is an interesting piece.
No makers sign or city/country stamp.
But it sure looks, hones & shaves like a really old Sheffield blade.
It has a pronounced smile & very, very smooth steel.
The shaves are nothing but velvety.
Scales are probably horn, a blonde variety.
And old friend of mine, a real antique-nut believed them to be tortoise, but I can’t say that for sure.
Anyhow, they are a bit crooked & have a couple of bites, but strangely the blade centers well, but might need a little guiding to be on the safe side.
This is like I said a really nice-shaving razor, but when I reach for a wedge, I mostly feel for one of the bigger 7/8+ ones in the arsenal, so it just sits there…

If I don’t answer your PM’s directly it might have to do with the differences in time-zones (I’m in Sweden) or the fact that I spend some time with the kids out in the snow… But I will get back to you
