What's new

Hello all...another B&B noobie.

I have been using a dovo shavette for the last 6 months to get started with wet shaving. I struggled for a while because I was using canned cream...lots of knicks(ouch!) I bought a cheap brush and some shaving soap and WOW! No more knicks or iritation.

latelly I have been looking at vintage razors on ebay and really want to use one. How cool is it to shave like a gentleman from the 1800's :thumbup1:

I'm kind of scared to buy as I am not familiar with brands and what really look for in a blade. Can someone help me please? Thanks a bunch gents

Not sure about the vintage razors but they are the rave on the site. As for blades, order a sampler pack and try them all until you find one, or several, that you enjoy.

Welcome Aboard!

I have tried several blades and I like the Sharks personally. They are devent price and last about 3 shaves for me. Does anyone have a favorite razor manufacturer? What is it that you like about them?

I think your best bet for a vintage STR8 is through a few great websites that offer shave ready STR8's

Our own B/S/T has some good STR8's available, as does:

http://www.therestoredrazor.com/shop-and-shave/budget-straight-razors.html
http://www.bobsrazors.com/shop/page/1?shop_param=

I've purchased a couple of STR8's off Ebay, and have had better luck with the above sites about honesty of the product and the price.

Good luck! Have fun shaving!
