5th DE Shave, razors do make a difference

Well I just completed shave #5 today with my newly acquired 40's Gillette SS, Tweezerman bursh, Tom's shaving cream, and CVS/Personna blades.

I was using a Tech for my first few shaves, and found a deal I couldn't refuse for the SS ($4) Even though I thought my angle was correct using the tech, I kinda wonder now. When using the SS for todays shave I could here the blade cut that I hear people mention you should here with proper angle.

The biggest thing for me, no irritation at all, there was little bit of a nic but that was from yesterdays shave.

I was able to get 2 passes on my face, with the grain, and across the grain. I can only still get one pass with the grain on my neck, I feel if I go further there is going to be irritation.

What direction should I go for my second pass on my neck? With the grain I go straight down on my upper neck, and up on my lower neck. I've watced Mantics videos but still can't quit figure which way to go for a second pass, or if I'm even doing the first one right (according to hair direction I feel I am)

I believe my lather is ok, heres todays lather.

Dennis, my hair grows every which way possible except towards the top of my head.

I started trying to do the WTG, XTG and ATG thing and got all befuddled. So here's what I do:

• 1st pass is N-S
• 2nd pass is S-N
• Last pass - I lather, feel for ATG with two fingers on the hand that isn't holding the razor, and allow the razor to follow my fingers

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the comments Jim, so if you go S-N on the second passes, would that be considered against the grain?
