    Default True Grit

    I went to see the Coen Brothers take on True Grit yesterday. As a fan of John Wayne I was a bit apprehensive about going to see but I didn't need to be.

    Apparently the intention was to make a film of the book, not to remake the original film.

    I can wholeheartedly recommend going to see this. It's a very different film and stands well on it's own without reference to the original.

    True Girt is an American Classic and the remake honored and did the orginal justice!

    I just posted this in another thread

    I just rewatched he 1969 version of "True Grit" When I watched the 2011 version in the theater, I immediately knew that Kim Darby's performance had been eclipsed. Sadly, on further review, I hav also decided that The Duke's performance also pales in comparison to Jeff Bridges. This hurts to say, as I am a Wayne fan.
