    Default Speick Cream: First Impressions

Received a tube of Speick cream today via Amazon- I'd ordered it out of curiosity and to round out an order for free shipping.

I tried it tonight. I used a DB scuttle, Omega 49 brush, Edwin Jagger 89L razor and a Feather blade with 3 shaves on the odometer.

It took a little longer to create the lather in the scuttle than some other creams, but the lather that resulted was just great: very slick, glossy, and lots of it from an almond-sized snurdle. Seems to me that it would work just fine for face lathering as well.

I did a 4 1/2 pass shave with enough lather left over for another pass. The result, without really trying, was between DFS and BBS. No nicks, no weepers, and zero razor burn, as in zip. My skin was left feeling smooth and moisturized. No drama, just a smooth, comfortable shave. As far as scent goes, there was very little, and what there was was best described as inoffensive.

My two standards for creams are Proraso and J.M. Fraser's (yes, I know, I'm a prole). This stuff is equal or better than both.

Good stuff. I'm a convert, for sure.

    YMMV,
    Jeff

Love the Speick. I bought it to satisfy a case of SCAD. I use it more often than any of my other creams. I think it has a strange medicinal scent, but man it makes a nice protective lather.

Speick is the ONLY cream so far that SMWBO has said (unsolicited) "That smells nice" when she walks by me when I'm shaving. That counts for a lot!! (Plus, it works VERY well)

I enjoy my Speick in my rotation as well. I am on this weird kick that I must use the matching AS after the shaving cream. Weird.

Speick is certainly an excellent shaving cream, with good moisturizing properties and a lovely herbal scent.

Good shaving cream agreed. I just dont like it personally. It is seriously nothing against the cream, I am actually trying to get rid of mine.

I haven't tried the cream, but I love the shave stick (and of course the AS and AS balm).

A decent cream. Best part is the scent as nothing else smells like it.

I place Speick in the category of a "little cream that could."

    The packaging is simple.
The scent is refreshing, and the cream is easy to lather.

I use Speick when I'm in a hurry because it is a dependable cream--I've never had a problem with it.
There's nothing wrong with it, but, for whatever reason, I feel as though Speick is in a lower weight class compared to the heavyweights like TOBS, AoS, Trumpers, and D.R. Harris.

Speick was the very first cream I tried. It's still in my top 5 creams.

I tried Speick recently as well and I was really impressed with it. I was able to whip up tons of lather with ease and the smell was really great. It may not have been the best lather, or the most moisturizing, but it is a very solid product that i see myself using for a long time.

Tried it this morning and did not really like it ... fragrance was a bit too cloying and musky... took too long to get decent lather. It just doesn't smell "clean" to me. I'm a T&H 1805 guy, really, but I like proraso every now and again. Speick is not a good fit for me. Have the rest of a tube (minus one use) to unload if anyone wants it. PM if interested.

Speick is great! If you don't have the aftershave lotion check that out as well because it is an excellent healing aftershave.

I think that I have bought 4 tubes of Speick Cream but I am yet to try it. The tubes have been PIFd or donated as competition prizes and these days I am shaving only with soap.
