Default King of Shaves Pre-Shave Oil AND Post-Shave Balm

Are they quality products or not? Worth trying out, or do you give them a collective thumbs-down? What is the Board's opinion regarding KOS pre-shave oil and post-shave balm? Anyone familiar with either product? I am thinking about taking the plunge. Thanks.

I prefer 'traditional' products, but as far as this sort of thing goes, I think they're fairly well thought of

Thanks, Ignatius. I appreciate it. I realize that most guy son the board prefer "traditional products", but I was at Bed Bath & Beyond recently, and figured that I would ask, since they carry the KOS product line. I just didn't want to waste my money, so I figured I would ask for the board's opinions.

Do has anyone else ever used King of Shaves pre-shave oil, or post-shave balm?

I love my Pacific pre shave oil! They have a big ol bottle available on their website, lasts me forever, well 7-8 months now.......

I have used (and still use) both.

The oil reduces irritation on my neck, but makes it harder to get a close shave. I've tried it both on its own and under a layer of cream/soap.

The balm smells nice, and seems to do a good job. I use it pretty frequently.

    Hope that helps!

YMMV, but I have tried many of their products and I think they are quite good. That being said, you can find better products for less.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the input. I am thinking about trying pre-shave oil and post-shave balm, and since Bed Bath and Beyond sells KOS, I was thinking about taking the plunge.

Re the KOS oil (and most oils for that matter), isn't that stuff basically a mix of fairly unexotic natural oils like grapeseed and tea tree, with a bit of menthol and something to give it it's funky blue colour? I'm not saying this makes it a rubbish product, but given what these things cost, it's a pretty hefty mark up.
You could probably mix up something similar yourself for much cheaper if you get through any significant volume of the stuff.

I'm happy to stand corrected, but certainly people do report using just grape seed or olive oil quite successfully, and there does seem to be something dubious about most of KOS's sciencey spiel regarding their products.
