    Default AUSTIN: FEB 26th 2011

THubbard76, Sullybob and I are planning to meet for lunch on the 26th around 11am.

We're still nailing down the location, but the guys have suggested offal.

    Who's in?

I hope the food is better than the name of the place.

I should have said, "the guys have suggested we find a place that serves offal."

I'm with you, Harry. However, I feel sure there isn't a place in Austin that serves only offal. We'll be fine.

OK OK. I was just joking about the offal (mostly).

It'll most likely be BBQ, or something more friendly to the non-chefing public. I'm going wherever you guys decide.

Sully and I will go eat guts another day...

Does it taste like chicken, sweetbreads or its name?

Call me tentative for now. Would be great to see and catch up with you guys!

Wink serves sweetbreads and they do a good job preparing them.

    Come on, Lewis!

We just need to nail down where we're meeting.

Sullybob needs a Texas BBQ education, me thinks.

Salt Lick and Kreuz were worth a trip, and I worship at the altar of Sonny Bryan's in Dallas.

    Gotta move to Tejas.

I'm going to have to disagree with Green Mesquite. To each his own.

We'd spoken about Salt Lick or one of the Lockhart legends.

Honestly, my favorite is Salt Lick, especially since the Round Rock location opened. It's closer to home, the water tastes good, and they take charge cards. The downside vs. the Driftwood location is they have a liquor license so you can't bring your own, and the atmosphere isn't quite the same.

Well, I suppose we should also think about one of the Elgin places.

In the end, I think the north Salt Lick location is going to be the closest to most of you (I live ~5 miles from Driftwood).
